Day 52Healing for the Heart

Dreaming Again, With God

Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Psalm 37:4

Pain has a way of killing dreams. Those who have been deeply wounded learn not to want anything, not to hope for much, to keep their head down and just survive — because dreaming and being disappointed feels worse than never having dreamed at all. But God wants to rekindle in you the ability to desire again. Notice the order of the verse: first "delight thyself in the Lord," then "he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." When you draw near to God, something beautiful happens: He doesn't just grant your desires — He reshapes them, plants new dreams inside you, truer ones, aligned with the best He has for you. You don't have to hold on to the same dreams as before; some of them died, and that's all right. But make room for God to plant new ones. Learning to dream again is an act of healing and of faith. Today, let God rekindle in you a longing for the future. Your story isn't over — it's turning the page.

Prayer

Lord, pain killed my dreams, and I was afraid to want anything again. Rekindle in me the desire to live. Plant new dreams in my heart, according to Your will. Amen.
