Day 33 — Peace in Place of Anxiety
His Grace Is Enough for Today
“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
Paul had a problem that wouldn't go away, no matter how much he prayed — a "thorn in the flesh." Maybe you have your own: a situation that insists on staying, a weakness that won't pass, an anxiety that always comes back. You ask God to remove it, and it doesn't go away. And then comes the temptation to think something is wrong with your faith. But listen to the answer Paul received — the same one for you: "My grace is sufficient for thee." God doesn't always remove the thorn; often he gives grace enough for you to live with it without being destroyed. And there's a strange beauty in that: "my strength is made perfect in weakness." It's precisely where you feel most fragile that God's power shows up most clearly — because there it becomes obvious that it wasn't your strength that held you up, it was his. Your fragility isn't an obstacle to God acting; it's the stage where his grace shines. Today, if the thorn remains, don't despair. Ask less for its removal and more for the grace — the kind that is enough, every day, to keep you standing.
Prayer
Lord, if You don't take this weight away, give me the grace to carry it with You. Let Your power be shown in my weakness. Your grace is enough for me today. Amen.
