Day 17Little Ones with God

David's courage

Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

1 Samuel 17.45

Goliath was a huge, scary giant, and nobody in the army wanted to face him. Nobody, except one little boy named David! He wasn't even a soldier, just a young shepherd. But David said something very brave to the giant: that he came in the name of the powerful God, and he didn't need a sword or armor to win. And he really did win, with just a small stone and a sling! David didn't trust in his own size, he trusted in how big God is. That's such an important thing to remember: you don't have to be the biggest, the strongest, or the oldest to do great things. With God by your side, even the smallest one can defeat the biggest giant.

Prayer

God, just like You helped David, help me be brave even when the challenge looks like a giant. Amen.
