Day 3A Man After God's Own Heart

You Are Not an Accident

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2.10

There's a simple phrase in this verse that can rewrite how you see your own life: you are God's workmanship, created to do the good works He already prepared before you were even born. That means you're not here by accident, wandering without direction, trying to invent a purpose from scratch. God already had a plan of good works waiting for you. Maybe today your life feels small — the job is repetitive, the days blur together, nobody seems to notice what you do. But the text doesn't say God prepared something grand; it says He prepared good works, for you to walk in them, one step at a time. Often God's purpose for a man isn't a stage — it's a quiet trench: providing for the household, raising kids with patience, being faithful in an ordinary job, treating well the people nobody else treats well. You don't need to invent meaning — you need to walk in what God already prepared. Today, look at your routine with new eyes: maybe the ordinary place you're standing in is exactly where God wants to use you. You are not an accident. You are His workmanship, with His purpose.

Prayer

Father, thank You for having a purpose for me before I was even born. Help me see value in the place where I am today. Let me walk in the good works You prepared, one step at a time. Amen.
