Day 76 — Young Woman of Faith
Light That Doesn't Hide
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
You are light. That's not just a poetic metaphor — it's what Jesus said about those who follow Him. You carry something the world needs to see.
But hidden light illuminates nothing.
Sometimes you hide because you're afraid of judgment. Of seeming too religious. Of not fitting in. So you keep your faith tucked inside, and you go about your day without leaving a trace of light behind.
But Jesus says: shine. Not to be seen. Not to impress. But so that people will see and glorify the Father.
Shining can be quiet: it's the patience you show when everyone else is losing it. The kindness you offer without expecting anything back. The honesty you keep up when lying would be so much easier.
You don't have to preach everywhere you go. Sometimes your presence is already a sermon.
You are light wherever you are. At school, at home, at work, online. Today, choose to shine — with grace and without fear.
Prayer
Lord, may my life be light wherever I am. May people see in me something only You could place there. May my light glorify You. Amen.
