Day 74Goodnight, Lord

Let Go of the Weight of a Perfect Day

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest... for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Matthew 11:28-29

You didn't need to be perfect today. Somewhere along the way, maybe, you were left with the feeling that you should have done more, done better, without a single slip. But Jesus doesn't call you to exhausting perfection; He calls you to rest. His way is gentle, light, free of the weight of the demands you place on yourself. The rest He offers is for the soul — that inner place where you finally stop pushing yourself so hard. Today, before you sleep, let go of the ideal of a perfect day. You did what you could, and that is enough for God. Come to Jesus with your imperfections and receive the rest He gives so freely. His gentleness welcomes anyone worn out from trying to hold it all together. Sleep light: His yoke is easy, and His love doesn't demand perfection.

Prayer

Jesus, I let go of the pressure to have been perfect today. I did what I could, and I rest in Your gentleness. Give my soul the rest that only You can offer. Amen.
