Day 19Goodnight, Lord

Remembering God at Bedtime

When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

Psalm 63:6

Sleep doesn't come easily every night. Sometimes you lie awake staring at the ceiling, and your mind wanders where it shouldn't. The Word teaches what to do with those hours: instead of dwelling on your worries, dwell on God. Turn the sleeplessness into an encounter. Remember who He is — faithful, present, good — and let those thoughts take the place anxiety wants to claim. The watches of the night don't have to be a time of distress; they can be a time of companionship. If sleep is slow to come tonight, don't fight the clock. Talk quietly with God. Tell Him about your day, rest in the memory of His care, and let His peace settle gently over your eyes.

Prayer

Lord, if sleep is slow to come, let my mind remember You. Turn my waking hours into fellowship with You. Quiet me and lead me into rest. Amen.
