Day 1 — Goodnight, Lord
The Day Is Over, and That's Okay
“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.”
Psalm 4:8
The day was what it was. You did what you could, left some things unfinished, maybe stumbled somewhere along the way. That's okay. Night didn't come so you could finish your list; it came so you could stop. God doesn't ask for a report on your day before He lets you sleep. He offers you something better: peace to close your eyes knowing you're not alone. What's left undone will still be there tomorrow — and tomorrow you'll have new strength for it. For now, let it go. The security that lets you sleep doesn't come from everything being resolved, but from the One who watches over you while you rest.
Prayer
Lord, my day is over, and I give it to You. Take away my urge to fix everything right now, and give me peace to sleep. In Your hands, I rest. Amen.
