Day 304Closer to God — 365 Days

Blessed Is the One Who Trusts

Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust.

Psalm 40:4a

The happiness the world promises is always conditional: happy if you have, if you achieve, if someone loves you, if things work out. The happiness this Psalm describes has only one condition — trusting in the Lord. Not trusting circumstances. Not trusting human plans. Not trusting your own strength. Trusting Him. And when trust is anchored in the right place, happiness becomes something deeper than passing joy — it becomes a peace that remains even when circumstances change. This trust is the root of a life of contentment and gratitude. Because whoever trusts in God doesn't need everything to go well in order to be well. They depend on Him — and He is faithful. Today, choose to trust. Not blindly, but with faith based on the track record of a God who has never failed.

Prayer

Lord, I want to be someone who truly trusts You — not only when things are going well, but especially when they're not. You are worthy of my trust. Amen.
