I See What No One Else Sees

“And thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.”

Matthew 6:18

Come here, my son, my daughter. I want to talk to you about that effort no one applauded. The prayer you prayed alone in the car before walking into the house. The patience you showed toward someone who treated you badly, and no one noticed. The favor you did without expecting anything back, and it was never even recognized.

The world has a habit of applauding only what shows up in the pictures, only what gets a comment. But I don't work that way. I was there, in the middle of the night when you didn't give up. I was there, in the meeting where you chose the truth even knowing it would cost you. Nothing you did faithfully, in secret, was lost on me.

Keep being faithful in what no one sees. That's where your character is formed, that's where I delight in you the most. One day, what was done in secret will come to light, at the right time, in the right way. Until then, keep going, knowing my eyes have never left you.
