Reconciliation Is a Journey, Not an Event
“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:14
My son, my daughter, maybe you expected reconciliation to happen in a single conversation, one hug that fixes everything at once, like in the movies. But real life is usually different: it's a process, with steps forward and steps back, with days when everything feels fine and others when the old hurt comes knocking again.
That doesn't mean forgiveness has failed. It means it's a road, not a destination you arrive at all at once. Every hard conversation, every attempt to draw close again, every moment you choose not to reopen the old fight, is a step on that journey, even when it feels too small to count.
I don't give up on you on the days your faith wavers, and I don't want you to give up on a reconciliation just because it isn't happening at the pace you expected. Keep going. One step at a time is enough. I walk beside you through every stage, even the slowest and hardest ones.
Declare today
I choose to see reconciliation as a journey, taking one step at a time without giving up along the way.
Pray
Father, give me patience for the process of reconciliation. Help me not to give up on the days the road feels hardest. Amen.
📓 Something to think about today
In which reconciliation do I need more patience, understanding that it's a process and not a single event?
