Your Calling, Not Someone Else's

“Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.”

Peter was standing there, freshly restored by me after so much pain over having denied me, and the first thing he did was look sideways and ask about John's calling. And I answered him, with both tenderness and firmness: what is that to you? Follow me.

I see you doing the same thing. Looking at your brother's path, your friend's, the coworker who seems further ahead, more fulfilled, with a clearer purpose. And that comparison only steals the energy that should be going into your own path.

The calling I have for you is yours alone, unique, tailor-made for your story. It won't look like anyone else's, and it doesn't need to. Stop looking sideways. Look at me, and follow.
