In the Hospital or the Waiting Room

I am the LORD that healeth thee.

Exodus 15:26

The diagnosis came and changed everything in a matter of minutes. Or maybe it's the wait for test results that's killing you with anxiety before you even know the verdict. Your body, which has always been your quiet, trustworthy companion, now feels like an unfamiliar enemy, full of surprises.

I want you to know this with complete certainty: I am not distant from that hospital room, that cold waiting room, that bed where you feel weak and out of control. I am the God who heals — sometimes instantly and visibly, sometimes through science, through skilled doctors, through the medicines I myself inspire scientists to create, sometimes through a process much longer than any of us would like.

I don't promise that every pain will disappear today, and it wouldn't be honest of me to promise that. I promise my real presence in every appointment, every treatment, every hard night of pain or sleeplessness. Start over trusting: your body, just as it is right now, is still in the hands of the One who formed it with care.

Declare today

I choose to trust my health and my body into the hands of the God who heals.

Pray

Lord, touch my body and my mind. Give wisdom to the doctors and peace to my heart. Amen.

📓 Something to think about today

What have I been trying to control on my own about my health that I need to surrender to God?
